[6] Cattle egret (隨牛而走的白鷺) in Lantau Island (大嶼山)
The following egret was observed next to the CUHK. (Feb 2002)
It seemed to enjoy sunlight and an introspective life.

[9] What a lovely " metallic " beetle ? The " armour " of the insect is smooth and shiny. It seems to be made up of brass alloy. It is in fact the " cuticle ", or the skeleton on the outside, hence it is called an " exoskeleton ".

[12] Three water skaters on a pond. [Sai Kung 2002]

[13] What an " ugly " caterpillar ? In fact, in the eyes of the universe, nothing is ugly.

[15] This is a stick insect (Sai Kung, HK 2002). When it rests on a twig,
its protective colour is absolutely amazing. An example of camouflage.
